About the Studio
The creative process behind Motha & Maker

I'm Marie — a digital artist and craft designer based in Stafford, UK. I run Motha & Maker as a hand-drawn art and design studio built on curiosity, playful experimentation, and intentional craft.
Every illustration I create is drawn by hand — line by line, detail by detail. No AI, no generators, no automated shortcuts. The process matters as much as the result: a stylus, a screen, and the patience to get it right. That commitment to hand-drawn craft is what makes the work feel alive.
My subjects follow my curiosity. Food and drink. Wildlife and nature. A recent series dedicated to the 2026 Winter Olympics, capturing the speed and raw determination of athletes on the world stage. I'm drawn to detail — the textures, light, and small moments that reward a closer look.
Away from the screen, I design and build with my Cricut — turning hand-drawn artwork into physical pieces and exploring new ways to bridge digital and tangible craft. The studio is where ideas become something you can see, hold, and use.
